12 - ZONING DISTRICTS GENERALLY

17.12.010 - Zoning districts designated.

For the purpose of this title, the village is divided into the following zoning districts:

R-L residential low-density single-family district;

R-M residential medium-density single-family district;

R-H residential high-density single-family district;

B-G general business district;

Mixed use business district;

B-H highway business district;

B-P business park district;

B-C central business district;

I industrial district;

A agricultural district;

C conservancy district;

P public district;

PUD planned unit development district.

17.12.020 - District boundaries.

A.

Zoning Map. The boundaries of the districts enumerated in Section 17.12.010 are established as shown on a map entitled "Zoning Map, Village of Cambridge, Wisconsin," which is adopted by reference and made a part hereof, pursuant to Section 15.08.030 of this code. The map shall bear upon its face the attestation of the village president and the village administrator/clerk/treasurer and shall be available to the public in the office of the village administrator/clerk/treasurer. Changes to the districts subsequent to adoption shall not be effective until entered and attested on this certified copy.

B.

Boundary Lines. The boundaries shall be construed to follow corporate limits; U.S. Public Land Survey lines; lot or property lines; center lines of streets, highways, alleys, easements and railroad rights-of-way; or such lines extended unless otherwise noted on the zoning map.

C.

Vacation. Vacation of public streets and alleys shall cause the land vacated to be automatically placed in the same district as the abutting side to which the vacated land reverts.

D.

Annexations and Consolidations. Annexations to or consolidations with the village subsequent to the effective date of this title shall be placed in the A agricultural district unless the annexation ordinance temporarily placed the land in another district. The plan commission shall evaluate and recommend a permanent district classification to the village board.
