This chapter is designed for the purpose of reducing congestion in the roads and streets; protection of the development of both urban, urbanizing, and nonurban areas; securing safety from fire, flood, erosion, and other damages; providing adequate light and air; promoting the health and general welfare and aesthetics; encouraging a distribution of population and classification of land uses and distribution of land development and utilization as will tend to facilitate economic and adequate provisions for transportation, communications, roads, airports, water supply, drainage, sanitation, education, recreation and other public requirements throughout the City of Doraville, Georgia. The Mayor and City Council do hereby ordain and enact into law the following articles and sections of the zoning ordinance of the City of Doraville, Georgia.
