Eureka City Zoning Code

The Eureka City Council may, without a public hearing, impose a moratorium or establish temporary zoning regulations for any part or all of the area within Eureka City if the Council first makes a finding of compelling, countervailing public interest, or if the area does not appear to be appropriately zoned.

A moratorium or temporary zoning regulations shall prohibit or regulate the erection, construction, reconstruction, or alteration of any building or structure or subdivision approval. The City Council shall establish a period of limited effect for said temporary action(s) not to exceed six months.
