Hereafter, when the boundaries of the city have been extended so as to include any given area, such area shall be temporarily placed in an “R-1” zoning district; and until the planning and zoning commission has made its recommendation to the city council that all or a part of such area be placed in a different zone or district and this article has been properly amended by the city council, such areas shall be subject to the regulations pertaining to the “R-1” district.

Whenever any street or alley is vacated, the particular district applying to property fronting on any such street or alley shall automatically be extended to the centerline of such street or alley.
