ARTICLE XXII
Off-Street Parking and Loading
§ 550-124 Required number of off-street parking spaces.
A.
For all new buildings and uses, and additions to existing buildings and uses, there shall be provided the minimum number of off-street parking spaces required for the specific use in accordance with the following schedule:

B.
All other uses and facilities not specified above shall provide parking at the rate of one space for each 250 square feet of floor area, excluding locker rooms and storage and maintenance areas.
C.
Any building containing more than one use shall meet the combined parking space requirements for all uses in the building. Any change in use within a building shall be required to meet the minimum parking requirements for the new use.
D.
Wherever all or some of the minimum number of parking spaces required for any particular use are dependent upon the number of employees on the premises or dependent upon the number of persons on the premises, the requirement shall in each such case be deemed to mean the number of employees or persons on the premises at the same time during the time when such number is at its peak. All applications for site plan approval shall state the total number of such persons for purposes of determining any applicable parking requirement. The number of parking areas provided for such persons shall be stated on the site plan and on any certificate of occupancy thereafter issued, which number shall be the limit of the number of employees permitted on the premises at the same time. Use of the premises by a greater number of employees at the same time than the number specified in the site plan or certificate of occupancy shall be a violation of this chapter.
E.
If it can be clearly demonstrated that because of the peculiar nature of any use all of the required parking is not necessary, the Land Use Board may permit a reduction in the amount of parking area to be paved, provided that the entire required parking area shall be shown on the site plan so that it will be available in the event future conditions should so require.
§ 550-125 Required number of off-street loading spaces.
In all zones, for every building or use requiring the receipt or distribution in vehicles of materials or merchandise, there shall be provided on the same property with such building or use off-street loading spaces in relation to floor area as follows:

§ 550-126 Shared parking in MUMD Zone.
A.
In order to take advantage of different peak periods of activity in the MUMD Zone, parking requirements may be reduced, at the discretion of the Land Use Board, to account for shared parking among uses. The total amount of parking required per § 550-124 above may be reduced by the following percentages, as determined by the Land Use Board:

Any use participating in the shared parking program as permitted above shall be located no farther from said parking area than 300 feet.
§ 550-127 Parking and storage of recreational vehicles as an accessory use to single-family residences.
Recreational vehicles, including boats, boat trailers, automobiles and snowmobile trailers, as well as campers, tent campers, motorized homes, trailers and travel trailers, may be parked in any zone; provided, however, that they shall not be occupied and shall be subject to the following restrictions and regulations:
A.
The area in which such recreational vehicles are parked shall be paved in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 219, Driveways.
B.
Any recreation vehicle 32 feet or more in overall length, including all hitching devices, shall be parked or stored only within an enclosed garage at all times.
C.
All other recreational vehicles shall be parked or stored in the side or rear yard areas only and shall meet the requirements applicable to accessory buildings for the zone in which they are located with respect to setback requirements.
D.
The area, exclusive of garage area, that may be used for storage of such recreational vehicles shall not exceed 7% of the total lot area or 400 square feet, whichever is less.
E.
Such recreational vehicles shall be screened from view either by fencing, not to exceed six feet in height, or with a vegetative screen. In the event that topographic conditions or other physical conditions of the property provides adequate screening without the use of vegetation or fencing in the opinion of the construction/zoning official, no additional screening shall be required.
F.
Off-street parking provided for and utilized by recreational vehicles shall be in addition to any other parking provisions required by this chapter.
G.
Horse trailers may be considered as a recreational vehicle where horses and or ponies for riding purposes are kept in connection with single-family residence use on the premises as a permitted accessory use.
H.
Such vehicles shall be owned by the resident of the single-family dwelling.
§ 550-128 Commercial vehicles as an accessory use in residential zones.
Any vehicle containing advertising matter intended to promote an interest of any business or any commercial vehicle used in connection with any business or commercial activity, shall not be parked, stored or maintained in any residential zone except in compliance with the following conditions:
A.
Not more than one commercial vehicle per dwelling unit shall be kept on a lot.
B.
The vehicle shall not exceed a rated capacity of 3/4 ton.
C.
The vehicle is regularly housed in a garage.
D.
The vehicle is used by a resident of the dwelling unit.
E.
The vehicle is not parked on the street, in any driveway or any exposed portion of the lot.
F.
This section shall apply to all vehicles which are customarily considered commercial vehicles, whether or not such vehicles shall carry a commercial registration.
