This district ensures that development along designated thoroughfares is well planned. At some point in the future, the widening or construction of these roads will take place. To minimize any negative impacts to adjoining property owners occurring due to such widening projects, the (TH) district has been created to require that all new structures lying on properties along these roads be adequately set back from existing and projected road rights-of-way. In this manner, all structures built per the (TH) district requirements will be adequately set back from the road when it is widened. The thoroughfare roads are shown on the adopted Thoroughfare Map, not the official Zoning Map. Thoroughfare roads are addressed when a development is submitted for review.
