- INTERPRETATION OF ORDINANCE
(4-101) When interpreting and applying the provisions of this ordinance, such provisions shall be held to be the minimum requirements for the promotion of the public health, safety, convenience, comfort, prosperity, and general welfare.
(4-102) Conflict with other laws. Whenever these zoning regulations require a greater width or size of yard, court, or other open spaces, or require a lower height of building or less number of stories, or require a greater percentage of lot to be left unoccupied, or impose higher standards than are required in any other statute or local ordinance or regulation, the provisions of this zoning ordinance shall govern. Whenever the provisions of any other statute or local ordinance or regulation require or impose higher standards than are required by this zoning ordinance, the provisions of such statute or local ordinance or regulation shall govern.
(4-103) No building, structure, or use which was not lawfully existing at the time of adoption of this ordinance shall be, become or be made legal solely by the adoption of this ordinance.
