- DISTRICTS AND BOUNDARIES
(7-101) The city is hereby divided into several types of districts of such shape and area as have been deemed best suited to carry out the purposes of Articles 1011a-1011j of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. Within such districts, this ordinance hereby regulates and restricts the erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, and use of buildings, structures, and land, as herein set forth. While the regulations in one district differ from those in other districts, all such regulations are uniform for each class or kind of building throughout each district. These districts shall be known as:
R-1 District: Single Family Residential District—7,500 square feet minimum lot area per dwelling unit.
R-2 District: One and Two Family Residential District—6,000 square feet minimum lot area per dwelling unit.
P-1 District: Professional District

(7-201) The boundaries of the districts are as shown on the official zoning map, which is hereby declared to be adopted and is considered a part of this ordinance; and it shall be considered as much a part of this ordinance as if the boundaries of the districts, notations, and information shown thereon were fully contained and described herein. A copy of this map shall be kept in its original condition as a permanent record in the office of the city clerk. It shall be the duty of the zoning official to keep the official zoning map current by entering on such map any changes or amendments to the zoning ordinance and map.
(7-301) Where uncertainty exists as to the boundaries of districts as shown on the official zoning map, the following shall apply:
(a)
Boundaries indicated as approximately following the center lines of streets, highways or alleys; platted lot lines; city limits, shall be construed to follow such lines.
(b)
Boundaries indicated as parallel to or extensions of features indicated in subsection above shall be so construed. Distances not specifically indicated on the official zoning map shall be determined by the scale of the map.
(c)
Where the physical or cultural features existing on the ground are at variance with those shown on the official zoning map, or in other circumstances not covered by subsections (a) and (b) above, the board of adjustments shall interpret the district boundaries.
