Mining, Agriculture and Recreation District
The purpose of the MAR mining, agriculture and recreation district is to provide opportunities to pursue mining, agricultural, recreational and other activities in the rural portions of the county. (Ord. 1-5-87A § 20(A))
The following are permitted uses in the MAR mining, agriculture and recreation district:
A. Mining;
B. Agricultural and livestock activities;
C. Campgrounds and parks;
D. Single-family dwellings or mobile homes;
E. Farm and/or ranch bunkhouses. (Ord. 1-5-87A § 20(B))
Accessory uses and buildings customarily appurtenant to a permitted use are allowed in the MAR mining, agriculture and recreation district. (Ord. 1-5-87A § 20(C))
The following are conditional uses in the MAR mining, agriculture and recreation district:
A. Skeet, trap or gun clubs;
B. Golf courses and/or driving ranges;
C. Facilities for the storage, handling, packing and/or processing of food or food products;
D. Milling and processing of minerals;
E. Extraction and processing of rock, sand, gravel;
F. Dumps;
G. Race tracks, cemeteries, airports, bulk plants and sewage treatment plants;
H. Construction camps;
I. Hunting and/or fishing preserve, dude ranches. (Ord. 1-5-87A § 20(D))
The following are prohibited uses in the MAR mining, agriculture and recreation district:
A. Manufacture of any acid or acid byproduct, chemical or gas, corrosive or explosive product;
B. Fertilizer or glue works. (Ord. 1-5-87A § 20(E))
There are no height regulations in the MAR mining, agriculture and recreation district. (Ord. 1-5-87A § 20(F))
The following are area and yard requirements for the MAR mining, agriculture and recreation district:
A. Lot Area. One hundred sixty acres.
B. Yard Requirements.
1. Front yard, thirty feet in depth,
2. Rear yard, thirty feet in depth,
3. Side yard, thirty feet in depth. (Ord. 1-5-87A § 20(G))
The following additional requirements apply in the MAR mining, agriculture and recreation district:
A. Patented mining lode, placer and mill-site claims are exempt from the minimum lot area requirement.
B. Each dwelling shall be at least forty feet from other main dwellings on the same lot.
C. All uses must retain existing access to and across the site or provide acceptable alternate access.
D. All off-street parking requirements and regulations are as provided in Chapter 17.60 HCC. (Ord. 1-5-87A § 20(H))
