ARTICLE XVI

Township District

§ 170-90 Purpose.

The Township District is intended:
A. 
To recognize and secure the open character of specific areas of the Township which now exist as Township-owned parkland;
B. 
To preserve physical amenities of the Township by reserving designated natural areas which are suited to park use;
C. 
To provide open recreational spaces in the Township in order to maintain desirable population densities and a proper relationship between residences and public outdoor areas; and
D. 
To provide for appropriate Township buildings and facilities necessary for the proper functioning of local government and the provision of obligatory public services.

§ 170-91 Use regulations.

A. 
Permitted uses. In the Township District, land, buildings, and premises may be used by right for the following purposes, and no other:
(1) 
Municipal administration, municipal service activities, and other uses deemed appropriate for the proper functioning of local government.
(2) 
Parks, open space, and recreation areas and facilities, in public ownership.
(3) 
Uses customarily accessory and incidental to any park, recreation, or open space use, including parking, refreshment, and service uses or buildings; and rental uses approved by the Board of Supervisors.
(4) 
Communication tower, subject to regulations contained in § 170-114 hereof.
(5) 
Forestry, in accordance with the terms of § 170-130.5 of this chapter.

§ 170-92 Additional regulations.

In the Township District, the following regulations shall apply: § 170-63A, Lot and yard regulations; § 170-63B, Maximum building height; and § 170-63C (supplemental regulations), except where the requirements of the foregoing sections are modified by the provisions of § 170-114, Standards for communication towers.
