ARTICLE IX

- LEGAL STATUS OF THIS ORDINANCE

Sec. 901. - Interpretation, purpose, and conflict.

901.1.

In interpreting and applying the provisions of this ordinance, they shall be held to be minimum requirements for the promotion of the public safety, health, convenience, comfort, prosperity, and general welfare. It is not intended by this ordinance to interfere with or abrogate or annul any easements, covenants or other agreement between parties, provided, however, that where this ordinance imposes a greater restriction upon the use of buildings or premises or upon height of buildings, or required larger open spaces than are imposed or required by other ordinances, rules, or regulations or by easements, covenants, or agreements, the provisions of this ordinance shall govern.

901.2.

Repeal of conflicting ordinances. This ordinance specifically repeals Ordinance No. 456 as amended, and any or all ordinances inconsistent herewith that have been previously enacted.

Sec. 902. - Separability.

902.1.

Should any article, section, clause, or provision of this ordinance be declared by the court to be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any part thereof, other than the part so declared to be invalid.

Sec. 903. - Effective date.

903.1.

This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
