The delineation of any boundary of any identified floodplain area may be revised or modified by the Township Supervisors in accordance with the procedure outlined in § 27-1001 of this chapter where detailed studies conducted or provided by a qualified agency or person documents the need for such revision. No change in any floodplain boundary shall however be approved by the Township until approval has been obtained from FEMA. Additionally, as soon as practicable, but not later than six months after the date that such studies become available, the Township shall notify FEMA of the changes made to the identified floodplain area by submitting technical or scientific data. (See also § 27-604 of this chapter for situations where FEMA notification is required.)
