56 - O-S OPEN SPACE ZONE

This zone classification is intended to be applied to properties which are found most properly to be preserved in a natural state and/or to provide open space buffer areas in which uses are restricted to recreational, conservation or light agricultural types, and including accessory and public service uses. The specific regulations of this chapter and the provisions of Chapter 17.76 shall apply in all O-S zones.

Principal permitted uses in the O-S zone are as follows:
A.
Measures to promote conservation or natural terrain and vegetation, and to reduce fire and erosion hazards;
B.
Riding and hiking trails, picnic sites;
C.
Public and private nonprofit riding stables, parks, golf courses, tennis and swimming clubs;
D.
Crop and tree farming, grazing;
E.
Uses which the planning commission determines, by written findings, are similar to the above.

Conditional uses requiring use permits in the O-S zone are as follows:
A.
Farm dwellings on parcels of ten (10) acres or more;
B.
Living quarters for caretakers or watchmen.
