Home occupation signs in residential areas are to be no larger than three (3) feet by four (4) feet in area, (not to exceed 1,728 square inches), may be attached to and parallel with the building wall which shall be securely affixed directly to the home's main structure, or posted within 2 feet of the homes' main structure, and shall not be directly illuminated, but rather any light emitted must be by a source which is diffusely reflected.

All signs shall be constructed in accordance with the requirements of the most current versions of the Uniform Building Code and National Electric Code adopted by the Parowan City Council.
All signs, except business signs, shall be illuminated by indirect lighting, the source of which shall not be visible from the street. In no case shall direct rays of light be permitted to penetrate a property in a residential zone or used for residential purposes.
All signs shall maintain a clear view of intersecting streets as provided in this Ordinance, and no sign shall be less than nine (9) feet high over a public right-of-way. In any zone requiring a front yard, all ground signs in that zone shall adhere to the front yard requirements.
The requirements for sign age of Bed and Breakfast Inns shall be as noted in the definition. Additional sign age requirements will apply in the historical overlay zone.
New billboards as of the date of adoption of this section are prohibited within the corporate limits of Parowan City.
Billboards in existence before the date of adoption of this section are considered a nonconforming structure which is regulated by PCMC 15.12 "Nonconforming Building and Uses," except that billboards are not considered "signs" for the purposes of PCMC 15.12.110. Nonconforming billboards must be kept in a well-maintained status and any billboards that are left in a significant state of disrepair for a period of greater than 1-year must be removed at the cost of the owner of the property or structure.
1. Prohibition of Political Signs in the Public Right-of-Way: The placement of political signs within any public right-of-way in the City of Parowan is hereby prohibited. This includes any signage that promotes, opposes, or influences the outcome of an election or referendum, or that advocates for or against a candidate or political party.
2. Prohibition of Mobile Political Signs: Mobile political signs, including but not limited to signs displayed on vehicles, trailers, or any movable structure, are prohibited within the corporate limits of Parowan when the primary purpose is to advertise or promote a political cause, candidate, or issue. This prohibition applies to any sign that is displayed on a vehicle or trailer when the primary purpose is for political advertising, regardless of whether the vehicle or trailer is stationary or moving.
3. Exceptions to Mobile Political Signs: The prohibition on mobile political signs shall not apply to signs that meet the following criteria:
