SECTION 16

C-2 - GENERAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT

§ 16.1 General Purpose and Description.

The General Commercial District is intended to provide a zoning category similar to the C-1 District, except that additional uses are permitted which are not generally carried on completely within a building or structure and an expanded range of service and repair uses is permitted.

§ 16.2 Permitted Uses.

A building or premise shall be used only for the following purposes:
16.2.1 
Uses as listed in Section 22 of this ordinance.

§ 16.3 Permitted Specific Uses.

The following specific uses shall be permitted in a C-2 District, when granted in accordance with Section 25:

Other uses as listed in Section 22 of this ordinance.

§ 16.4 Height and Area Regulations.

§ 16.5 Parking Requirements.

Off-street parking requirements shall be provided in accordance with Section 26.

§ 16.6 Special Masonry Requirements.

All structures, excluding accessory buildings, located in commercial/business zones (C-1 and C-2) shall have not less than sixty-five percent (65%) of the exterior wall constructed of masonry materials. Variances from this provision may be granted by the City Council if petitioner demonstrates that the intent of the masonry requirement is being satisfied by use of other materials or that the conditions of the particular location make the masonry requirement unnecessary or unreasonable. Cost of satisfying the masonry requirement shall not be a consideration in determining whether a variance should be granted.
