CHAPTER 10

G GOVERNMENT AND INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT

12-10-1: REGULATIONS GENERALLY:

The regulations set forth in this chapter or set forth elsewhere in this title and referred to in this chapter, are the district regulations for the G Government and Institutional District.

12-10-2: USE RESTRICTIONS:

No use shall be allowed in a G Government and Institutional District unless the use is owned or operated by a unit of government or a religious, not-for-profit, or eleemosynary corporation or association.

12-10-3: PERMITTED USES:

The following uses are permitted in the G Government and Institutional District:
Elementary schools.
Fire stations.
Indoor recreational facilities owned or operated by a governmental body.
Maintenance and storage facilities for Municipally owned equipment and vehicles.
Municipally owned exposition and trade show facilities.
Municipally owned housing for senior citizens.
Municipally owned indoor stadiums and arenas.
Municipally owned parking garages and parking lots.
Parks.
Police stations.
Publicly owned mass transit facilities.
Publicly owned office buildings where eighty percent (80%) or more of the floor area within the office building is occupied by a governmental body.
Water towers, water pumping facilities, lift stations and other facilities used in connection with a government owned and operated water or sewer utility.
Any use not listed above which is owned or operated by the Village.

12-10-4: SPECIAL USES:

The following uses shall be permitted as a special use within the G Government and Institutional District; provided, that a special use permit is issued in accordance with the requirements of chapter 3, article B of this title:
Churches.
Colleges, universities, trade schools and other post secondary educational facilities.
Garbage transfer stations.
Publicly owned hospitals or clinics.
Secondary schools.
Any other use that is owned and operated by a unit of government.
