ARTICLE 12

07 - DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT

Sec. 12.07.001 - Purpose

A downtown development district is hereby created by the city with the purpose of compiling and implementing an action plan for the redevelopment of the district in order to preserve the economic and social investment in the downtown area and encourage private sector investment, with special emphasis on the River Corridor located within the boundaries of the downtown development district.

Sec. 12.07.002 - Boundaries

The downtown development district shall consist of all property located within the boundaries as listed in exhibit A [published in section 12.07.005] and incorporated herein for all purposes.

Sec. 12.07.003 - Downtown development commission

There is hereby created a downtown development commission, which shall act in an advisory capacity to the city council.

Sec. 12.07.004 - Severability

The terms and provisions of this article shall be deemed to be severable in that, if any portion of this article shall be declared to be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the other provisions of this article.
