CHAPTER 4

F FARMING DISTRICT

Sec. 8-4-1. - Permitted uses.

In the F farming districts, the only uses permitted are as follows:

A.

The uses permitted in the R-1 districts, except only one single-family residence shall be allowed on any section or parcel of land under one ownership. Those uses expressly prohibited in R-1 districts are expressly prohibited herein, except that the raising of poultry, dogs, rabbits or other animals or livestock and the pasturing and grazing of horses are permitted in the F district. The minimum lot size in the F district shall be five acres.

B.

"Agriculture", as defined in section 8-1-5 of this title, except that neither animals, excluding domestic animals, nor poultry may be housed, stabled, kenneled or yarded closer than 100 feet from any residence.

C.

Fishing and fish and game preserves.

D.

Portable or temporary stands for the display and sale of products which are produced on the premises, provided:

1.

Such stand complies with the setback requirements; and

2.

Adequate parking space is provided for the motor vehicles of customers off the highway right-of-way, as set out in section 8-1-11 of this title.

E.

One sign not larger than 20 square feet in area, pertaining to the sale, lease or identification of the premises upon which it is located or the sale of farm products produced thereon.

F.

Pipelines, electric substations or transformer stations, telephone repeater stations and automatic exchange, radio stations and towers.

G.

Polo fields.

H.

Truck gardening, nurseries, greenhouses, mushroom barns and apiaries.

I.

Riding stables and riding tracks, except that horses and ponies may not be housed, stabled or yarded closer than 100 feet from any residence.
