There shall be established in the Village of Stickney a light industrial district consisting of lots which are located partially or wholly within the area designated as the industrial district on the zoning map.
The following uses are permitted in light industrial districts:
Accessory uses as defined in this ordinance which are incidental to the conduct of a permitted use
Animal hospitals
Animals pounds
Arcade, archery ranges, shooting galleries
Automobile diagnostic centers and clinics
Automobile driving schools
Automobile laundries
Automobile service stations
Automobile undercoating service
Bakeries employing five or more persons or making baked goods for sale off premises
Banks and other financial institutions
Bars, taverns, cocktail lounges and package liquor stores
Bookbinding
Building materials sales, storage and millwork
Cartage and express facilities
Christmas tree sales lots during the month of December, including the use of a temporary structure or trailer for sales office
Cold storage plants

Drive-in facilities for banks and other financial institutions

Clubs, lodges, fraternal or religious
Horse race tracks
Hospitals, sanitariums and nursing homes, not including institutions for the care and treatment of the insane, feebleminded, retarded, alcoholic or drug addict patient
Manufacturing or fabricating, assembly, disassembly, repairing, storing, cleaning, servicing and testing of goods, wares and merchandise within completely enclosed buildings or out-of-doors screened by a solid wall or uniformly painted fence of at least six feet in height
Mobile home parks
Racetrack and raceways
Radio and transmission towers.
No land use which is listed herein as a special use in the heavy industrial district shall be permitted in the light industrial district.
No manufacturing of any kind shall be allowed within the light industrial district unless all heating or heat treatment for said manufacturing shall be fired by gas, oil, electricity.
All operations conducted in a light industrial district, including loading and unloading, storage, manufacture, processing or assembling or materials for products, shall be carried on entirely within a building and in a manner not injurious to the occupants of the building or the occupants of adjacent premises by reason of the emission of odor, fumes, gases, dust, smoke, noise or vibrations.
No building shall exceed 45 feet or three stories in height, whichever is greater.
There shall be a rear yard of not less than ten percent of the depth of any lot, provided that such rear yard shall not be required to exceed ten feet in depth.
A side yard, if provided, shall not be less than three feet wide, except when it is adjacent to a single-family district, or lot on which there is a single-family dwelling, in which case the side yard shall not be less than six feet wide.
In the light manufacturing district, no building, together with accessory buildings, shall occupy more than 90 percent of any lot.

No land use which is listed herein as a special use in the heavy industrial district shall be permitted in the light industrial district.
No manufacturing of any kind shall be allowed within the light industrial district unless all heating or heat treatment for said manufacturing shall be fired by gas, oil, electricity.
