The purpose of this district is to promote recreational activities along the Atlantic Ocean beach front. Within this district no lot or building shall be used and no building shall be erected or altered to be used, in whole or in part, unless it complies with the regulations set forth in this article. The following principal uses shall be permitted in this district:
Buildings and structures necessary for public safety and convenience, including first aid stations, lifeguard stations, comfort stations, piers, and related facilities.
Shore protection projects, both structural and nonstructural, including groins, jetties, sea walls, revetments, bulkheads, beach nourishment, and dune creation.
Maximum building height shall be one story, but not to exceed 16 feet in height to the topmost point of the structure from the base flood elevation.
