Young Harris City Zoning Code

ARTICLE I

- TITLE

An ordinance of the City of Young Harris, Georgia, regulating the location and use of buildings, structures, and land for trade, industry, residence and other purposes and the size of yards; creating districts for said purposes and establishing the boundaries thereof; defining certain terms used herein; providing for the method of administration and amendment; and providing for the imposition of penalties for the violation of the provisions of this ordinance.


Section 1.1. - Short title.

This ordinance shall be known and may be cited as "The 2010 Zoning Ordinance of the City of Young Harris, Georgia."

Section 1.2. - Preamble, statement of purpose and enactment clause.

In pursuance of authority conferred by law, and for the purpose of promoting the health, safety, convenience, order, and prosperity of the general welfare of the City of Young Harris, Georgia; lessening congestion in the streets; securing safety from fire, panic and other dangers; providing adequate light and air; preventing the overcrowding of land; avoiding undue concentration of population in residential zones; facilitating the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks, and other public requirements; conserving the value of buildings; and encouraging the most appropriate use of land and buildings through the City of Young Harris, Georgia; the council of the City of Young Harris, Georgia, does ordain and enact into law the following articles and sections.
