OFF-STREET PARKING REQUIREMENTS
In all districts, there shall be off-street parking provided for automobile storage or parking with vehicular access to a street or alley, and shall be equal to at least the minimum requirements for the specific type of use set forth.

(a)
Surface treatment. All such off-street parking areas providing more than ten parking spaces shall be constructed as to provide a durable, stabilized and dust free surface. A good stand of vegetative cover shall be maintained on the remaining portion of the lot.
(b)
Lighting. Any lighting proposed to illuminate off-street parking areas shall be located and arranged so that all rays of light are directed upon the parking area only and not on any adjoining properties. Off-street parking areas in B-1, B-2, and M-1 districts shall have lighting.
(c)
Drainage. Off-street parking areas shall be adequately drained in compliance with appropriate erosion and sedimentation control regulations.
(d)
Striping. Off-street parking areas in B-1, B-2 and M-1 districts shall be clearly striped/marked.
(e)
Accessibility. Access to off-street parking areas shall be provided in accordance with state department of transportation regulations.
(f)
Width. A minimum width of nine feet shall be provided for each parking space.
(g)
Length. A minimum length of 20 feet shall be provided for each parking space.
(h)
Setbacks. Off-street parking areas shall be set back a minimum of five feet from property lines.

Screening/buffering. Off-street parking areas in excess of 10,000 square feet and located less than 100 feet from any residential district or existing residential dwelling shall require a minimum buffer of ten feet on sides adjacent to residential districts or existing residential dwellings. Off-street parking areas where the primary use is for rental to the general public, shall have 20 percent of the area maintained as landscaped open space, which can include the setback area. Off-street parking areas for rental shall only be acceptable uses in B-1 and B-2 districts. (Amdmt. No. 99-1, 4-6-99)
