SECTION 19

- INTERPRETATION OF ORDINANCE

19.01.- [Minimum requirements.]

When interpreting and applying the provisions of this ordinance, such provisions shall be held to be the minimum requirements for the promotion of the public health, safety, convenience, comfort, prosperity, and general welfare.

19.02. - Conflict with other laws.

Wherever these zoning regulations require a greater width, depth, or size of yards, courts, or other open spaces, or require a lower height of building or less number of stories, or require a greater percentage of lot to be left unoccupied, or impose higher standards than are required in any other statute or local ordinance or regulation, the provisions of this zoning ordinance shall govern. Wherever the provisions of any other statute or local ordinance or regulation require a greater width, depth, or size of yards, courts, or other open spaces, or require a greater percentage of lot to be left unoccupied, or impose other standards than are required by this zoning ordinance, the provisions of such statutes or local ordinance or regulation shall govern.

19.03. - [Omissions on zoning map.]

If, because of error or omission on the zoning district map, any property in the City of Bridge City is not shown and included in a zoning district, such property shall be classified as R-1, residential until changed by amendment in accordance with the requirements of this ordinance.

19.04. - [Unlawful uses.]

No building, structure, or use which was not lawfully existing at the time of adoption of this ordinance shall be, become, or be made legal solely by the adoption of this ordinance.
