Community event signs. For purposes of this section, a "community event sign" shall be a nontemporary sign designed to provide notice on a continuing basis of community activities and events as they occur, and so used. A community activity or event shall be one sponsored by a civic, service, charitable, scholastic or similar organization for the benefit of the community at large, for nonprofit purposes, or an activity or event expressly sanctioned by the Borough Council, such as sidewalk sales days, or an activity or event expressly approved for inclusion in community event signs by the Borough Council. A community event sign shall have a surface area not in excess of 35 square feet per side, shall have no more than two sides and shall not be of a prohibited type under §
255-218. A community event sign shall not be placed or maintained upon property without the consent of the property owner and, if not sooner removed, shall be removed at such time as it is no longer being used for the aforesaid purpose, it falls into a state of disrepair or any term of use specified by Borough Council in granting the conditional use expires, whichever is sooner.
