It is the intent of this chapter to protect properties and persons and general public from nuisance activities related to the use of private property in the conduct of an "occasional sale" (garage sale).

These requirements shall apply to the use of privately owned land for the purpose of conducting an "occasional sale"; included in the definition of such sale are: garage sales, patio sales, rummage sales, or any similar sales.

The requirements of this chapter shall be enforced by the Director of Community Development, the Director's designees, and the Code Enforcement Officers of the Community Development Department. Any violation of any section of this chapter shall be punishable as delineated in Section 16.406.010 of this title.
