All public hearings required by law pertaining to the same, having been duly held, the city council adopts that certain Colfax comprehensive plan entitled Colfax 2035 Comprehensive Plan Update[1], as and for the new comprehensive plan of the city, including any and all maps which are a part thereof. One copy of the comprehensive plan, with maps which form a part thereof, is on file and shall remain on file in the office of the city clerk, and a copy thereof, with maps which form a part thereof, is also on file in the office of the director of community development of the city. The copies so filed shall be available for public inspection as required by RCW 35A.63.072.

Pursuant to RCW 35A.63.072, the city council shall, within sixty days after receiving the recommendation of the planning commission as to any future amendment or amendments to the comprehensive plan, vote to approve or disapprove or to modify and approve, as modified, such amendment or amendments, or to refer the same back to the planning commission for further proceedings specifying the time within which the planning commission shall report back to the city council its findings and recommendations on the matters referred to it. An annual call for amendments to the comprehensive plan shall kick off during the September planning commission meeting and shall obtain recommendation from the commission by the December meeting.

The Colfax planning commission shall conduct an update of the comprehensive plan every seven years or as directed by city council or state of Washington statute. The comprehensive plan shall project over a twenty-year time period.
