- PURPOSE AND JURISDICTION
The zoning regulations as herein set forth have been prepared and adopted by the Daytona Beach Shores City Commission with due consideration to existing conditions and future development of Daytona Beach Shores; according to general policies expressed in the comprehensive land use plan for Daytona Beach Shores.
It is hereby declared that the provisions of this land development regulation in its interpretation and application are the minimum requirements necessary to promote, protect and improve the public health, safety, comfort, good order, appearance, convenience, morals and general welfare; to conserve the value of the land, buildings and resources; to protect the character and maintain the stability of residential, commercial, tourist, recreational and natural area and to promote the orderly development of such areas; to provide adequate light, air, privacy and safe and convenient access to property; to limit traffic congestion; to provide for adequate fire and police protection; to prevent the overcrowding of land and undue concentration of structures; to conserve and protect the natural resources and scenic beauty and provide for the abatement of air and water pollution and excessive and unnecessary noise; and to prevent the development or use of land or the commission of other acts by persons, partnerships or corporations which will tend to destroy or having a substantially adverse effect on the environment of any established residential or business area within the County.
