Rules for Interpretation of District Boundaries

§ 250-5 Rules for interpreting boundaries in following sections.

Where uncertainty exists as to the boundaries of districts as shown on the Official Zoning Map, the following rules shall apply:

§ 250-6 Center lines of streets.

Boundaries indicated as approximately following the center line of streets, highways, or alleys shall be construed to follow such center lines.

§ 250-7 Lot lines.

Boundaries indicated as approximately following platted lot lines shall be construed as following such lot lines.

§ 250-8 Township limits.

Boundaries indicated as approximately following Township limits shall be construed as following such Township limits.

§ 250-9 Railroad lines.

Boundaries indicated as following railroad lines shall be construed to be midway between the main tracks.

§ 250-10 Parallel boundaries; extensions; distances determined by scale of map.

Boundaries indicated as parallel to, or extensions of, features indicated in §§ 250-6 through 250-9 above shall be so construed. Distances not specifically indicated on the Official Zoning Map shall be determined by the scale of the map.

§ 250-11 Zoning Hearing Board to make certain interpretations.

Where physical or cultural features existing on the ground are at variance with those shown on the Official Map, or in other circumstances not covered by §§ 250-6 through 250-10 above, the Zoning Hearing Board shall interpret the district boundaries.

§ 250-12 Zoning Hearing Board may allow certain special exceptions to regulations.

Where a district boundary line divides a lot which was in single ownership at the time of passage of this chapter, the Zoning Hearing Board may permit, as a special exception, the extension of the regulations for either portion of the lot not to exceed 50 feet beyond the district line into the remaining portion of the lot.
