Public Use District
The district use chart, ECMC 18.45.070, sets forth those uses which are permitted outright, require a conditional use permit, or planned development approval in the PU district.
The intent of the public use district (PU) is to protect public facilities such as parks, schools, and wastewater treatment facilities from pressure of alternative development. Public use zoning is applied to those areas deemed necessary for the long-term use and enjoyment of the city and its citizens; and to provide for and protect public institutional facilities within the city, including public utility installations.
