A. Permit Required: No person shall erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, convert, or demolish any building or structure in the city or cause the same to be done without first obtaining a separate building permit for each such building or structure from the city building official. B. Application For Permit: To apply for a permit, the applicant shall first file an application therefor in writing on a form furnished for that purpose by the city building official, who shall determine the acceptability of the request in conformance with the international building code and the international residential building code, and who shall thereupon issue or deny the application. C. Contents Of Application: The application for a building permit shall be signed by the owner or applicant attesting to the truth and exactness of all information supplied on the application. Each application shall clearly state that the permit shall expire and may be revoked if work has not begun or is not substantially completed within one year. As a minimum, the application shall contain the following information:
1. Name, address and phone number of applicant.
2. Legal description of property.
6. Plan, drawn to scale, showing the actual dimensions and shape of the lot to be built upon; the exact size and location of existing building on the lot, if any; and the location and dimensions of the proposed building or alteration.
8. Number of off street parking spaces or loading berths.
9. Number of dwelling units.
10. Proposed sewer and water facilities.
11. Such other matters as may be necessary to determine conformance with, and provide for, the enforcement of this title. (Ord. 223, 7-13-2006)
D. Approval Of Permit: Within thirty (30) days after the receipt of an application, the building official shall either approve or disapprove the application in conformance with the provision of this title. All building permits shall, however, be conditional upon the commencement of work within one hundred eighty (180) days. One copy of the plans shall be returned to the applicant by the city clerk and shall have marked such copy either as approved or disapproved and attested to same by the building official's signature on such copy. One copy of plans, similarly marked, shall be retained by the city clerk. (Ord. 250-B, 7-12-2012)
E. Expiration Of Permit: If the work described in a building permit has not begun within one hundred eighty (180) days from the date of issuance thereof, said permit shall expire. (Ord. 223, 7-13-2006)
