The general objective of the A-1-R zone is to establish a zone which is characterized by large lots used for residential purposes. It is intended to provide development opportunities while maintaining an open, rural atmosphere and allow the keeping of large animals. The zone is characterized by effectively spaced single-family detached houses with outbuildings and agricultural activities confined to the area to the rear of the house. (Ord. 93-003 § 8-2(1))
