In case any building or structure is erected, constructed, reconstructed, altered, repaired, converted, maintained or used, or any building, structure or land is used, in violation of this chapter or of any other ordinance or lawful regulation, the corporate authorities of the Village of Flossmoor, in addition to the remedies herein provided for, may institute any appropriate action or proceeding to prevent such unlawful erection, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, conversion, maintenance or use, or to impose a penalty for such violations in order to prevent the occupancy of said building, structure or land contrary to the provisions hereof, or to prevent any illegal act, conduct, business or use in or about such premises, before any board, commission or court having jurisdiction thereof.
