SCHEDULE OF FEES

This schedule includes fees levied by the city with the exception of real and personal property taxes, franchise fees, certain leases and contractual agreements, business license fees included in the business license ordinance, and criminal and traffic violation fines established by the State of South Carolina.

Administration

Description: These fees apply to all City transactions.

NON-RESIDENT RATES

Unless otherwise specifically provided, all taxes and rates shall be doubled for nonresidents and itinerants having no fixed principal place of business within the Municipality.

TIERED REDUCTION FOR TOP GROSSING BUSINESSES

Licensees that typically pay more than $50,000 in business license taxes per calendar year will be in a separate category as follows:

• Figure the business license tax using the calculation sheet provided with the business license application (remembering to round up on the per 1000 rate).

• If the business license tax is between $50,000 and $75,000 deduct 10%. This will be your new business license tax.

• If the business license tax is between $75,001 and $100,000 deduct 15%.

• If the business license tax is $100,001 and over deduct 20%.

Fire Prevention and Protection

Description: A permit fee for the privilege of doing business within the City limits

Hazardous Materials Construction Inspection Fee Schedule
AST -or- UST removal $150.00 per tank This inspection fee is required to obtain a construction permit to install, remove, abandon, place temporarily out of service or otherwise dispose of a flammable or combustible liquid tank.
LP-gas installation: Temporary and permanent $150.00 for 1st tank, plus $50.00 for each add'l This inspection fee is required to obtain a permit to install permanent LP gas systems.

 

LP-gas installation: Bulk plant $750.00 for 1st tank, plus $500.00 for each add'l This inspection fee is required to obtain a construction permit to install bulk plant LP-gas systems.
LP-gas installation: Temporary $150.00 for 1st tank, plus $50.00 for each add'l This inspection fee is required to obtain a permit to install LP-gas systems or containers for a period less than six (6) months.
Miscellaneous Construction Inspection Fee Schedule
Re-inspection fee 1st inspection free, $100.00 for second inspection if items cited in first inspection are not corrected, double the previous fee for every re-inspection issued thereafter The inspection fee shall be assessed for each reinspection when: when corrections called out on a previous inspection are not made; or when a contractor does not have the permit card, or the plans are not available to the inspector.
After hours inspection $75.00 per hour (2-hour minimum) This "After Hours Inspection Fee" shall be assessed whenever, at the request of the contractor or building owner, the fire department conducts an inspection after or before the normal business hours of 0830 to 1700 Monday through Friday, or anytime on weekends. This fee shall be doubled when the inspection occurs n a holiday or holiday weekend.
Work without a permit or approval Double fee (inspection fee and plan review fee × 2) This inspection fee is to be assessed whenever any work for which a permit is required by the fire department has been commenced without first obtaining a permit.

Setoff Debt Collection

Description: Fees for the collection of "delinquent debt" as defined in the Setoff Debt Collection Act, S.C. Code Ann. § 12-56-10, et seq., to include "collection costs, court costs, fines, penalties, and interest which have accrued through contract, subrogation, tort, operation of law, or any other legal theory regardless of whether there is an outstanding judgment for that sum which is legally collectible and for which a collection effort has been or is being made.
