Kalispell City Zoning Code

There is hereby created the "Planning Commission," also known as the Kalispell City Planning Commission, for the City of Kalispell in accordance with § 76-25-104, MCA.

The membership of the Planning Commission shall consist of seven members who shall be confirmed by a majority vote of the City Council. Terms of each member shall be for a period of two years. The members of the Planning Commission shall serve without compensation, other than reimbursement for approved budgeted expenditures incurred in carrying out the functions of the Planning Commission.

It shall be the duty of the Planning Commission to hold public hearings where necessary and make recommendations to the City Council on all matters concerning or relating to the land use plan and future land use map, the creation of zoning districts, the boundaries thereof, the appropriate regulations to be enforced therein, the amendments of these regulations, subdivision regulations, appeals pursuant to this Zoning Ordinance, and any other matter within the scope of the zoning power. The Planning Commission is also authorized to confer and advise with other City, County, regional, or state planning or zoning commissions.
