ARTICLE IX

- B-2 CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT

Sec. 22-255. - Description of district.

The B-2 district is designed to accommodate Businesses that serve the needs of the residents of the City, tourists, and the surrounding community.

Sec. 22-256. - Permitted Uses.

The following are permitted Uses in the B-2 district:

(1)

Banks and savings and loan associations;

(2)

Public buildings and offices;

(3)

Furniture, mail order, cleaning, laundry, photographer, shoe repair stores;

(4)

Appliance sales and repair;

(5)

Beauty shops and barbershops;

(6)

Travel agencies and ticket offices;

(7)

Charitable, civic, youth, social and fraternal organizations;

(8)

Indoor entertainment facilities;

(9)

Liquor, dairy, food, department, antique, clothing, and hardware stores;

(10)

Medical, dental, legal, engineering, architectural, accounting and other professional services;

(11)

Mortuaries and funeral homes;

(12)

Printing, photocopying and blueprinting services;

(13)

Radio and television studios;

(14)

Hotels, Motels, Restaurants, bars and lounges;

(15)

Parking Lots;

(16)

Sporting goods and camera stores;

(17)

Service Stations.

Sec. 22-257. - Special Review.

Such other Retail, personal service and professional Uses which are conducted entirely within an enclosed structure and by their nature are compatible with the Uses listed above are permitted by Special Review in the B-2 district.

Sec. 22-258. - Minimum site area.

The B-2 district has no minimum site area requirements, provided that conditions of parking requirements are met.

Sec. 22-259. - Minimum front, side and rear yards.

The B-2 district has no minimum front, side, and rear yard requirements, provided that conditions of parking requirements are met.

Sec. 22-260. - Maximum Building Height.

The maximum Building Height in the B-2 district shall be 35 feet.

Sec. 22-261. - Permitted Signs.

The following are permitted Signs in the B-2 district:

(1)

Two Signs advertising the property for sale, lease, or rent, not to exceed six square feet each;

(2)

Two Signs identifying the property, its occupants and its Use, which are self-supported and which do not extend more than three feet over the public right-of-way. Such Signs must be no more than ten square feet each, nor less than eight feet above the sidewalk grade.
