A building or premises shall be used only for the following purposes:
(1) Any use permitted in the R-4 Multiple Dwelling District.
(2) Retail store or shop such as grocery, drugstore, meat market, florist, delicatessen, notion or stationery store, and the like.
(3) Dressmaking, tailoring, shoe repairing, repair of household appliances and bicycles, catering, dry cleaning and pressing, and bakery with sale of bakery products on the premises, and other uses of a similar character, provided that no use permitted in this paragraph shall employ more than five (5) persons in a single shift on the premises, not including employees whose principal duties are off the premises or temporary seasonal employees.
(6) Offices and office buildings.
(7) Personal service uses including barber shops, banks, beauty parlors, photographic or artist studios, messengers, taxicabs, newspaper or telegraphic service stations, dry cleaning receiving stations, restaurants, and other personal service uses of a similar character.
(8) Off-street parking lots.
(9) Accessory building or use, including signs pertaining to the name of the establishment or to products or services sold or offered on the premises. Such signs shall not extend more than ten (10) feet from a wall of the structure, shall not exceed a gross area of fifty (50) square feet, and must be at least eight (8) feet above the sidewalk level.
