(a) "Central air-conditioning machinery or equipment" means a cooling unit for more than one room.
(b) "Electric Power Generator" means machinery fueled by natural gas or liquid fuels (including liquid natural gas, propane, diesel or gasoline) and used for the purpose of generating and supplying electricity.
(c) "Exterior Utility Equipment" means any equipment, machinery, meters, regulators, or valves defined in this Section which are used, installed, or located outside of a building, dwelling, or other structure. For the purposes of this Chapter, Exterior Utility Equipment shall not include satellite dishes, transformers, or cable and telecommunications boxes.
(d) "Utility Meter" means any device that measures the amount of electricity, gas, water, or heat used by a building or dwelling.
(e) "Pressure Regulator" means a device or value used to monitor or regulate the flow or pressure of a liquid or gas. (Ord. 2015-08. Passed 5-20-15.)
1278.02 LOCATION OF EXTERIOR UTILITY EQUIPMENT.
(a) All Electric Power Generators shall be located at the side or rear of any building, dwelling or structure, in compliance with the applicable setback requirements. Utility Meters and Pressure Regulators may be located in front, side or rear of the building, dwelling or structure subject to approval of location by the Inspector of Buildings.
(b) No person shall construct any Utility Meters or Pressure Regulators to serve any building or dwelling within the City unless such Utility Meter or Pressure Regulator is constructed within ten feet of the building or dwelling which it serves, but such Utility Meter or Pressure Regulator need not be constructed more than 125 feet from the street line.
(c) All Electric Power Generators shall be situated so as to exhaust into the interior of the lot on which they are located.

1278.03 SCREENING OR CONCEALMENT.
All Exterior Utility Equipment shall be concealed or screened from view from neighboring premises and city streets.

Electric Power Generators shall be:
(a) Used only during periods of power outages, the temporary unavailability of electricity, or for periodic testing and necessary maintenance operation between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
(b) Generators shall contain vibration dampeners and sound attenuation equipment sufficient to ensure that the sound level produced during operation shall not exceed 70 db measured at the nearest property line.
