This chapter may be cited and referred to as the "Town of Phillipsburg Zoning Ordinance."

This chapter is adopted pursuant to and in accordance with the Municipal Land Use Law, Chapter 291 of the Laws of New Jersey 1975, N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1 et seq., and to carry out the intent and purposes set forth in N.J.S.A. 40:55D-2 and specifically to limit and restrict to specified districts or zones, and to regulate therein, buildings and structures according to their construction and the nature of and extent of their use, and the nature and extent of the uses of land, in the Town of Phillipsburg, Warren County, New Jersey, and providing for the administration and enforcement of the provisions therein contained and fixing penalties for the violations thereof. Any use not specifically permitted herein shall be deemed to be prohibited.
