Purpose.
A.
The zoning ordinance of the Town of Rockland, Brown County, Wisconsin, is adopted for the following purposes:
1.
To lessen congestion in the streets;
2.
To secure safety from fire, panic, and other dangers;
3.
To promote and to protect the public health, safety, comfort, convenience, and general welfare;
4.
To provide adequate standards of light, air, and open space;
5.
To maintain the aesthetic appearances and scenic values of the Town, including the Niagara Escarpment;
6.
To prevent the overcrowding of land;
7.
To avoid undue concentration of population;
8.
To facilitate the adequate provision of transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks, and other public requirements; and
9.
To foster a more rational pattern of relationship among agricultural, residential, business, commercial, and manufacturing uses for the mutual benefit of all.
