Sec. 10.01.- Planning and zoning commission.

The council shall appoint a planning and zoning commission as provided in the Charter, section 6.01 et seq. All actions of this commission shall be in accordance with the city Charter, as now or hereafter amended.

Sec. 10.07. - Zoning ordinances, rules and regulations.

The council shall pass all ordinances, rules and regulations necessary to implement and govern the zoning of the city. Such zoning shall incorporate the zoning plan prepared by the planning and zoning commission and approved by council and all changes to the zoning plan as prepared by the same commission and approved by council.

Sec. 10.08. - Classification of new land uses.

The planning and zoning commission shall be authorized to determine the appropriate classification of any new land use activity not specified at the time this ordinance is adopted. Such interpretive rulings shall thereafter be included as supplemental notes to the ordinance until such time as the "uses permitted by right" list or "conditional use" list in the appropriate sections of this ordinance are revised by ordinances adopted by the city council.

Sec. 10.09. - Staffing and financial support.

The planning and zoning commission may recommend the employment of persons deemed essential to the performance of its assigned responsibilities. The commission may recommend to the city council the employment of urban planners, engineers, architects, landscape architects, and other respective professionals. The city council shall provide an annual budget for the work of the planning and zoning commission.
