CHAPTER 2

ZONING DISTRICTS AND BOUNDARIES

11-2-1: DISTRICTS ESTABLISHED:

   A.   Districts: The village of Stockton is divided into the following districts:
A
Agriculture district
R-1
Single-family residential district
R-2
Single-family residential district
R-M
Multi-family residential district
R-MH
Mobile home residential district
B-C
Central business district
B-H
Highway business district
I-L
Limited industrial district
I-G
General industrial district
PUD
Planned unit development district
 
   B.   Vacation Of Streets: Vacation of public streets and alleys shall cause the land vacated to be automatically placed in the same district as the abutting side to which the vacated land reverts.
   C.   Annexations: Annexations to the village subsequent to the effective date of this title shall be placed in the A agriculture district unless the annexation ordinance temporarily places the land in another district. Within one year of the date of annexation, the zoning board of appeals shall evaluate and recommend a permanent district classification to the village board. (Ord., 10-14-2008)

11-2-2: ZONING MAP:

   A.   A certified copy of the zoning map shall be adopted and approved with the text as part of this title and shall bear upon its face the attestation of the village president and shall be available to the public in the office of the village clerk.
   B.   Changes thereafter to the districts shall not be effective until entered and attested on this certified copy. (Ord., 10-14-2008)

11-2-3: BOUNDARIES:

Boundaries of these districts are hereby established as shown on a map entitled "zoning map, village of Stockton, Illinois", which accompanies and is part of this title. Such boundaries shall be construed to follow: corporate limits; U.S. public land survey lines, lot or property lines; centerlines of streets, highways, alleys, easements, and railroad rights of way or such lines extended; unless otherwise noted on the zoning map. Boundaries indicated as parallel to or extensions of features indicated in the preceding sentence shall be so construed. Distances not specifically indicated on the zoning map shall be determined by the scale of the map. (Ord., 10-14-2008)
