- OFF-STREET PARKING AND LOADING REQUIREMENTS
The intent of off-street parking requirements is to protect the public safety by minimizing the number of vehicles parked on road and street easements and prevent excessive wear on the public roads and streets.

Because it is assumed that agricultural land uses will be placed on a lot of sufficient size, all agricultural districts are exempt from any off-street parking requirements.
One 300-square-foot parking space or driveway is required for every residential dwelling unit. In the event that the driveway intersects a public drainage way, the developer must provide a culvert deemed suitable by the county road department for ensuring proper drainage flow.
Because success of a business may depend on the amount of parking available, the number of parking spaces that a commercial establishment must provide is left to the discretion of the proprietor. However, the following requirements apply to all commercial business establishments:
V.3.1 Handicapped parking. There must be at least two handicapped parking spaces which are paved with a hard surface. From the handicapped spaces a paved walkway of at least five feet in width must extend to the main entrance of the establishment. The size of each handicapped parking space shall be no less than 13 feet in width and the length shall be consistent with all other parking spaces. Handicapped spaces must be marked either on the pavement or by a sign at head of the space.
V.3.2 Ingress and egress. All ingress and egress to the parking areas must be paved with a hard surface, have a minimum width of at least 30 feet and a length of at least 40 feet.
V.3.3 Loading zones. All loading zones must be paved from entrance to exit.
The following requirements apply to uses in all industrial districts:
V.4.1 Handicapped parking. There must be at least two handicapped parking spaces which are paved with a hard surface. The size of each handicapped parking space shall be no less than 13 feet in width and the length shall be consistent with all other parking spaces.
