ARTICLE XVIII

Planning Board

§ 260-93 Organization.

A Planning Board is hereby created, which shall be organized by the Village Board of Trustees in accordance with New York State Village Law § 7-718, as amended from time to time.
The Planning Board shall consist of five members appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees, each to serve for a term of five years. Vacancies for the unexpired term of any member shall be filled for such unexpired period only. The appointment of members to the Board shall be of terms so fixed that one member's term shall expire at the end of each Village official year. At the expiration of each member's appointment, the replacement member shall be appointed for a term of five years.
The Mayor shall appoint a Chairperson, subject to the approval of the Board of Trustees. In the absence of a Chairperson, the Planning Board may designate a member to serve as Acting Chairperson. All meetings of the Planning Board shall be held at the call of the Chairperson and/or Acting Chairperson and at such other times as a majority of the Board may determine.
Such Chairperson, or, in his absence, the Acting Chairperson, may administer oaths and compel the attendance of witnesses.
The Village office shall be the office of the Planning Board, and the Deputy Village Clerk shall be the Clerk of the Planning Board.
All records of the Planning Board shall be public records and shall be filed with the Village Clerk in the Village office. Such Board shall keep minutes and records of its proceedings showing the vote of each member in any question.
The Planning Board shall have such jurisdiction as is provided under New York State Village Law Article 7 and over such subjects as may be determined by the Village Board of Trustees by local law or by resolution.
