CHAPTER 11

AMENDMENTS

11-11-1: AMENDMENTS:

Amendments to this title shall be in accordance with the laws of the state of Wyoming and the following general procedure and requirements:
   A.   Initiation: Amendments may be made at any time by the town council, by ordinance, on its own motion, upon recommendation from the planning and zoning commission or upon the signed petition of any interested persons.
   B.   Referral To Commission: All proposed amendments shall be referred to the planning and zoning commission for study and recommendation.
   C.   Public Hearing: Before taking official action, the town council shall hold a public hearing on all proposed amendments after at least fifteen (15) days' notice of the time and place of the public hearing shall have been given at least one publication in a newspaper of general circulation within the municipality or by posting the same in the town hall and two (2) other prominent places in the community.
   D.   Protests: If there is a protest against the change signed by the owners of twenty percent (20%) or more of the area of the lots included in the proposed change, or of those immediately adjacent within a distance of one hundred forty feet (140'), an amendment will not become effective except upon the affirmative vote of three-fourths (3/4) of all members of the town council. In determining the one hundred forty feet (140'), the width of any intervening street or alley shall not be included. (Ord. 2001-15, 1-14-2002)
