1000 Public Use District
§ 500-1001 Purpose.
The Public Use District is intended to provide for a district for public buildings and uses that otherwise may not fit into zoning districts because of their specialized land use needs and public purpose. This designation serves as a notice to those owning or buying land in proximity to publicly owned land, which is not ordinarily subject to the regulations of this chapter.
§ 500-1002 Principal Uses for Public Use District.
A.
In general. Table 10-1 lists all permitted and conditional uses allowed in the Public Use District.
B.
Permitted uses. Uses specified with a "P" are permitted in the district or districts where designated, provided that the use complies with all other applicable provisions of this chapter.
C.
Conditional uses. Uses specified with a "C" are allowed as a conditional use in the district or districts where designated, provided that the use complies with all other applicable provisions of this chapter.
D.
Prohibited uses. Any use not listed as either "P" (permitted) or "C" (conditional) in a particular district or any use not determined by the Community Development Director or his/her designee to be substantially similar to a use listed as permitted or conditional shall be prohibited in that district. Such determination shall be made in the manner provided for in Chapter 500-200, Administration and Enforcement, governing determination of substantially similar uses.
E.
Specific development standards. Permitted and conditional uses specified with an "x" under the Specific Development Standards column shall be subject to the standards identified in other areas of the Village of Bellevue Zoning Ordinance.

§ 500-1003 Lot requirements.
Lot requirements shall be as specified in Table 10-2.
A.
Public utility well sites, pump stations, substations, and similar uses involving no major structure are exempt from the minimum lot area, frontage and width requirements.

§ 500-1004 Transitional yards.
A.
If a lot abuts a R-1, R-2 or R-3 zone district at any point along the rear lot line, it must maintain the same rear yard setback as required in that abutting zone.
B.
Where a side or rear lot line in the P District coincides with a side or rear lot line in any adjacent residential district, a yard shall be provided along such side or rear lot line not less than 15 feet in depth and shall contain landscaping and planting to provide an effective screen.
§ 500-1005 Special provisions.
A.
If any land zoned P is sold, conveyed, or transferred to any nongovernmental entity, the buyer or transferee must submit an application requesting the Village to rezone the land.
B.
Land acquired by a government, public or quasi-public agency shall retain its existing zoning designation until such time as the Zoning Map is amended to designate such land as a Public Use District.
