1100 Institutional District
§ 500-1101 Purpose.
The Institutional District is intended to eliminate the ambiguity of maintaining, in unrelated use districts, areas which are under public or public-related ownership and where the use for public purpose is anticipated to be permanent.
§ 500-1102 Principal uses for Institutional District.
A.
In general. Table 11-1 lists all permitted and conditional uses allowed in the Institutional District.
B.
Permitted uses. Uses specified with a "P" are permitted in the district or districts where designated, provided that the use complies with all other applicable provisions of this chapter.
C.
Conditional uses. Uses specified with a "C" are allowed as a conditional use in the district or districts where designated, provided that the use complies with all other applicable provisions of this chapter.
D.
Prohibited uses. Any use not listed as either "P" (permitted) or "C" (conditional) in a particular district or any use not determined by the Community Development Director or his/her designee to be substantially similar to a use listed as permitted or conditional shall be prohibited in that district. Such determination shall be made in the manner provided for in Chapter 500-200, Administration and Enforcement, governing determination of substantially similar uses.
E.
Specific development standards. Permitted and conditional uses specified with an "x" under the Specific Development Standards column shall be subject to the standards identified in other areas of the Village of Bellevue Zoning Ordinance.

§ 500-1103 Lot requirements.
Lot requirements shall be as specified in Table 11-2.
A.
Minimum lot frontage may be measured at the building setback line if said lot is located on the outer radius of a street, such as a cul-de-sac. In no case shall frontage measured at the right-of-way line of a cul-de-sac or curved street be less than 60 feet.
B.
Minimum lot width shall be measured at the narrowest width within the first 30 feet of lot depth.
C.
No building permits shall be issued for permitted uses in an Institutional District unless public sewer and water is available and is extended to service the development.

§ 500-1104 Transitional Yards.
A.
If a lot abuts an R-1, R-2 or R-3 zone district at any point along the rear lot line, it must maintain the same rear yard setback of the principal building as required in that abutting zone.
B.
Where a side or rear lot line in an I-1 District coincides with a side or rear lot line in any adjacent residential district, a yard shall be provided along such side or rear lot line not less that 15 feet in depth and shall contain landscaping and planting to provide an effective screen.
