CHAPTER 14

66 - EMERGENCY PERMITS

14.66.010 - Purpose and intent.

The purpose of this chapter is to establish procedures for the issuance of emergency permits. The intent of this chapter is to develop a mechanism to alter the permit requirements of this title for situations falling within the definition of "emergency."

(Ord. 315 § 1 (part), 1981)

14.66.020 - Procedures.

1.

When immediate action by a person or a public agency performing a public service is required to protect life and property from imminent danger, or to restore, repair or maintain public works, utilities, or services destroyed, damaged, or interrupted by natural disaster, serious accident, or in other cases of emergency, the requirements of obtaining a permit under this title may be waived by the community development director. Verbal or written notification of the type and location of work undertaken must be given to the community development director within three working days of the disaster or discovery of the danger, whichever occurs first.

2.

Within seven working days of taking such action, the person who notified the community development director shall send a written statement to the community development director of the reasons why the action was taken.
