24 - RURAL DISTRICTS
The following uses are permitted in the rural district:
Truck and flower gardening;
Nurseries;
Orchards;
Greenhouses;
Single-family dwellings;
Multiple-family dwellings;
Mobile homes or trailers on their own three-acre on larger lot;
Public or private forest and wildlife reservations or similar conservation projects;
Parks and playgrounds;
Airports;
Municipal utilities and buildings, which do not detract from the area;
Hospitals and sanitariums;
Home occupations;
Schools;
Public utility structures which do not detract from the area;
Farms;
Any use which is incidental to the forenamed.

Construction in the rural district shall comply with the following provisions:
A.
No building on structure shall be erected within fifty feet of any property or street line;
B.
No building or structure shall be erected which will interfere, because of height, with any established use;
C.
Every lot or tract of land upon which a dwelling is to be erected shall have an area of not less than three acres and an average width of not less than two hundred and fifty feet, except that a dwelling may be erected or constructed on a smaller lot of record at the time of passage of the ordinance codified in this title.

The raising of livestock and poultry in the rural district shall comply with the following provisions:
A.
The raising of livestock is permitted only on adequately fenced tracts containing not less than ten acres and having an average width of not less than four hundred feet;
B.
The raising of poultry is permitted only on adequately fenced tracts containing not less than four acres and having an average width of not less than two hundred and fifty feet;
C.
In no event shall livestock or poultry be raised or housed within three hundred feet of any dwelling, mobile home or trailers or within nine hundred feet of the corporate limits of the city.

Sufficient off-street or road parking shall be provided in rural districts.
