Fences.
(a)
Fences, walls in front yards in residential zones. In an R-1A, R-1B, R-2A or R-2B zone, fences, walls, plantings or shrub plantings shall be regulated as set forth herein. On any corner lot, no fence or accessory structure or planting shall rise over two and one-half feet in height above the level of the public sidewalk within twenty feet of any corner, so as to interfere with traffic visibility across the right of the way corner. Where no sidewalk has been constructed, the two and one-half feet shall be measured from the grade at the front of the property line as established by the city engineer. No fence or wall or shrub planting of more than two and one-half feet in height above the ground shall be erected within the front set back of the particular zone of the particular property.
(b)
Fences, walls, plantings other than in front yards in residential zones. In any R-1A, R-1B, R-2A or R-2B zone, fences not regulated in subsection (a) of this section shall not be built higher than six feet above the ground.
(c)
No fence two and one-half feet high can be built with barbed wire or without a salvage finish on the top and the bottom.
(d)
Fences, screens, walls, shrubs in a commercial or industrial zone may be built to a height of eight feet above the ground.
