Watershed District
The W watershed zoning district is established as a land use district for the purpose of guaranteeing water sources and supplies. For the watershed district, in promoting the general purposes of this title, the specific intentions of this chapter are:
A. To preserve and protect potable water reserves for existing and future borough residents;
B. To prohibit all land uses which could endanger needed water sources and supplies; and
C. To encourage the discontinuance of existing uses that are not permitted uses under the provisions of this title. [Ord. 81-56-O §1, 1981. Formerly §17.10.010].
The following land uses are permitted in the watershed district:
A. Access and maintenance roads;
B. Communication system lines;
C. Electric distribution lines and substations;
D. Snow and water gauging stations;
E. Water pumping stations;
F. Water reservoirs and dams;
G. Water transmission lines; and

The following land uses and activities may be allowed by obtaining a conditional use permit in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 17.200 KIBC:
A. Communication facilities and towers; and

There are no lot area, lot width, front yard, side yard or rear yard requirements for this district. [Ord. FY2018-13 §2, 2018; Ord. 81-56-O §1, 1981. Formerly §17.10.040].
All areas disturbed in construction and subsequently not covered with buildings, structures, surfaced drives, walks, or parking areas shall be reestablished and maintained under healthy vegetative cover to minimize dust, erosion, sedimentation, and other potential adverse effects on water quality and quantity.
